**GW4 MRC Doctoral Training Program PhD Studentship**
The Diezmann Lab is inviting applications for a GW4 MRC DTP studentship in collaboration with the Haynes lab in Exeter and the Berger-Schaffitzel lab at Bristol to address the question “Chaperones: mediators of the switch from commensal to pathogen?“.
Human commensals can rapidly become pathogens. We hypothesize that this switch is mediated by the chaperone Hsp90 in Candida species. The student will combine novel techniques in yeast molecular biology with state-of-the-art structural analysis methods to elucidate and define the role of fungal Hsp90 and host proteins mediating this switch.
