The Diezmann lab researches the role of the molecular chaperone in fungal biology and virulence. Specific aims include (i) understanding how Candida albicans shifts from commensal to pathogen lifestyle and (ii) identifying novel drugs and drug targets supporting the fight against fungal disease.

We are interested in Hsp90’s role in genome diversity (1), post-translational modification of Hsp90 (2), Hsp90 network evolution (3), the role of Hsp90 co-chaperones and kinase clients in fungal virulence (4, 5), invertebrate models of fungal disease (6), Candida immune evasion (7), natural compounds fighting fungal AMR (8), and the structural relationship between Hsp90 and its clients (9).
